Work and Achievements
ASTHA has successfully included disability concerns in the National and International platforms through building alliances with several organizations, network of Rights based campaigns and National level forums.
Successfully established two strong community groups, Chingari Mahila Samiti (Women’s focus group) and Vikalong Ekta Manch (Young adults with disability) who are now actively involved and advocating for issues affecting their lives and that of persons with disabilities.
Around 40%children with disabilities to access mainstream schools for education and are able to advocate for their rights and voice their concerns on protection rights on big platforms such as National Commission for Protection of Child Rights.
Annually National Disability Helpline has been supporting an average of 1500 persons through counselling, referral and information dissemination to access their rights. National Disability Helpline has created two major networks Delhi Helpline Network (DHN) and National Disability Helpline Network (NDHN).
Several training modules on several areas on disability, tool kits for understanding disability laws and reports on status of education of children with disabilities under RTE, have been developed and published. The information materials are available in Braille as well
Fund Utilisation Statement
The funds will be utilized for supporting rehabilitation, inclusive education and life skill training programmes for children young adults with disabilities.
