Centre for Catalyzing Change
We equip, mobilize, educate and empower women and girls to achieve gender equality.
Work and Achievements
Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3, formerly CEDPA, India,) works to mobilize women and girls to achieve gender equality. Our vision is a future in India where women and girls are fully empowered and equipped to realize their rights, access opportunities and achieve gender equality. We have been working in India since 1987.
Digital ICTs can provide girls with basic inputs like new information, learning opportunities, technical and practical skills and employment avenues for enhanced decision-making power. However, despite large-scale digital literacy and skilling programs being launched, there continues to exist a huge digital divide in India. Most young women from disadvantaged groups simply lack resources to access the infrastructure. But more importantly, they remain unfamiliar of new technologies and its benefits. Girls from rural and marginalized communities in India are victims of ‘information poverty’ and the ‘digital divide’ and they face psychological, material, skills and usage barriers around accessing and using digital technology.
C3 plans to provide digital literacy to 15,000 adolescent girls in Jharkhand so that:
- They are confident and access opportunities using digital platforms,
- They have greater access to public services relating to entitlements and resources, such as employment opportunities, welfare/scholarship schemes, laws on land and inheritance, economic and educational opportunities
- They disrupt gender asymmetries to seek their rightful places as citizens of this country.
Fund Utilisation Statement
