Our Mission

Facilitating quality education for 13,000 underprivileged children in Uttar Pradesh (UP) through two proven models.

Work and Achievements

Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in India having lowest Human Development Indicators. Literacy rate in urban areas in UP at 77% is lowest in India. Annual Status of Education Report 2015 finds that 71% of 8th class children in UP cannot read 2nd class Hindi textbooks. Underprivileged children attending schools with no learning is irreparable loss preventing their families from realizing their true potential. E&H Foundation aims to address this critical problem in UP at scale.

E&H Foundation identified and collaborated with two successful models and replicated these in UP. E&H Foundation in its 4 th year is educating over 13,000. Within three years, E&H Foundation successfully contributed to improving reading abilities and attaining grade appropriate competencies of 5000 underprivileged children. At least 80% of children (more than 55% girls) are first generation learners, from most distressed families with average attendance of 70%. Independent assessments show, children supported scoring 100-150% higher marks compared to government school children and almost comparable to

India’s best CBSE schools (independent studies available) at Rs 4000/child/year creating scaling up potential. In 2016-17 program has expanded to 13000 children with pilot for class 4-6 children. Till March 2016, E&H Foundation has spent Rs 1.47 cr. Of this 43% was raised through 84 individual and corporate donors, promoting a culture of giving for noble causes. E&H Foundation aims to scale up programs by 2020 to 100,000 children to provide quality education and health care services.

Fund Utilisation Statement

The funds raised would be utilized for meeting cost of providing quality education to 750 underprivileged children, with more than 55% girls in UP for a year.
