Our Mission

The Trust is working on creating awareness about musculoskeletal and deformities by (1)Teaching (2) Health Camp Screening (3) Free and Subsidies Spine Surgery mainly in Orissa & NCR region in Delhi.

Work and Achievements

This Trust was set up in 2011 by Dr Shankar Acharya, Senior Consultant and Spine surgeon at Sir Gangaram Hospital with an aim to help and treat children with spinal deformities .A lot of children with spinal deformity due to lack of awareness of their parents or inability to finance their healthcare are neglected in early childhood. This leads to gradual worsening of their deformity leading to late presentation with severe deformity, which is then usually untreatable.

During the short span of 3 years the trust has organized several health camps and treatment of poor children and then helped them in their operations. All this has been done mainly in rural parts of Odhisa and Delhi.

The Trust has also done other activities, like funding and distributing study material to poor children in rural schools of Odhisa.

Last year about 24 patients who had undergone spine surgery, some of whom were unable to walk before surgery, participated in the Great Delhi Run of 6 Kms, in the Airtel half marathon 2014. The event was done to create awareness about safe spine surgery.

Similar participation is being organized this year too.

I request all friends and well wishers who are reading this letter to be generous enough to help me in generating funds. All funds generated will be used to treat and operate on poor children with deformities who need surgery.

Fund Utilisation Statement

The fund will be utilized for “screening, treating and operating on musculoskeletal deformity in children who can’t afford it.
