It is that time of the year again when the Roshni students, staff and volunteers from Roshni, Ramakrishna Ashrama, will be running in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon/Great Delhi Run which takes place on 20th November 2016 in order to raise funds for our organization. Our Roshni team for the Champions with Disability Run – 4 km comprises of Ayush Khare, Yogendra Kushwah, Rachit Ahuja, Firoz Khan and Ankur Tomar; escorting them are Team leader Rakhi Asthana,Staff; Maya Dubey, brothers/friends of participants Divyansh Khare, Rohit Kushwah and Sheru Khan. Ayush and family are participating for the 3rd year.

Roshni which was founded in 1998 at the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Gwalior, is a Centre, which enables the rehabilitation of persons with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, autism and other neurological conditions.

The funds raised this year with your support, will go towards financing 2 Early Intervention Groups, which provide education, therapy, feeding, nutrition, daily activities and sensory needs for very young children (1 – 6 years). Funds are also utilized in the education and training of parents which is of monumental importance to the well being of our children. In every child’s life the first six years are the most crucial for the future and the intensive work put in by our staff ensures that the child’s progress is assured.

The unit for children with Cerebral Palsy and Neurological Disabilities has been functioning since 2002 and at present there are 17 infants registered here. The Swami Vivekanand ComDEALL Early Intervention Unit for Autism Spectrum and Communication Disorders was started in 2012 and has 19 children, 5 of which are going to mainstream schools too.
