After migrating from Bihar, Nisha Rani along with her parents and five siblings found refuge in a small hutment in the outskirts of Village Rauni, in Ludhiana district. Her father, a substance abuser, was unable to provide a regular income to sustain the family. Nisha’s mother works as a domestic help and the children were forced to take up petty jobs to supplement the meagre income.
Teachers from Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Rauni counselled Nisha’s mother and convinced her to send Nisha and her siblings to school. Reversing the misery of poverty through quality education, the Satya Bharti School Program set in motion a journey of transformation. Nisha’s story speaks volumes of her progress. From a shy and timid girl into a confident and capable student, Nisha is paving a direct path to her dream of running a successful business venture in the future.
