Even today, school is just too far away for several crore children in India. The distance is created by a sense that the classroom is too scary, not relevant or not comfortable for many children. Children fear their teachers, are often beaten in school, find studies hard. For girls it’s even harder – no toilets, no bins in toilets for days when one is menstruating, harassment on the way to school or in-school.
I want to do my bit to bring school closer to children. So I’m running the distance at the Delhi Marathon
Magic Bus has been running this distance for the past 18 years and currently has 400,000 children and young people that it works with. These children have a better chance of going to school and finishing their secondary education, because Magic Bus makes sure it stays with them, encouraging them, their families and their schools to support education. Once they finish school, young people have the option of getting a stable job through the Magic Bus Livelihood centre.
I request you to support this run and be part of this journey by making a small contribution. Your contribution will go a long way!
Thank you in advance!
