Educational and Development Initiatives (EDI) promotes value formation in young people and service to the underprivileged. One of their projects is Kamalini Vocational Training project, for which I am running Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Women are the key to a thriving future for their family and their community. Kamalini’s mission is to empower underprivileged women to attain holistic development through basic education, vocational skills and encouragement.
Hundreds of underprivileged women from urban villages in Delhi and rural areas in Haryana receive vocational skills in the sectors of hospitality, cutting and tailoring, and domestic work, thanks to Kamalini. Other programs include English, typing, basic computer, tuitions for children.
I am fundraising for the rural project in Haryana, Kamalini Sonha Road Campus. It has been under construction since 2013, and needs a push for its completion. It will provide formal vocational training to many girls and women from backward rural villages around Gurgaon-Sonha road. Meanwhile, such training is taking place in the villages, with the collaboration of local leaders – Sarpanch, Aananwadi Workers and school teachers. Women at the construction site too are given training in hygiene.
Support my cause for the holistic development of girls and women! Kindly donate to EDI, and
I’ll do the running part for you!
