Work and Achievements

Sai Milan is a registered non-profit and non-governmental organization society dedicated to create a solution to end hunger and poverty. Sai Milan is a collective of social workers, human rights activists and academics devoted to uphold the basic rights of the poor. Sai Milan defines rights to include, right to food, right to shelter, right to live with dignity and most importantly right to life. Sai Milan aims to create an inclusive society by responding to the basic needs of the poor elderly and destitute children and persons with disabilities.

Founded in 2010, Sai Milan has evolved from an association of people providing day-to- day nutritious meals, medical facilities, education and vocational trainings to the poor and needy. In six years of its experience Sai Milan has able to create widespread impact on numerous Human Rights concerns and has fundamentally influenced the government authorities in eradication of poverty. Sai Milan has played a pivotal role in eradicating hunger, illiteracy, unemployment and poverty in the capital city of India and has campaigned for eradicating hunger through its ‘feed the hungry’ campaign in Delhi. Not only Sai Mian has ensured food for all poor but, has added meaning to their life by serving each of the individual with love and concern.

Our Feed the hungry initiative has gained additional impetus with a place for kitchen (Parsadlaya) at Jal Vihar Road, Lajpat Nagar which has started functioning from 15 th August, 2012. As a part of it we have succeeded in making Jangpura Constituency the first hunger free zone of New Delhi. Our food distribution centers include Madrasi Camp, Kilokari Camp, Nehru Camp, Indira Camp, Aadivasi Camp, Vijay Camp, Indo Star School, the timing of food serving at these clusters are 12 to 2.30 P.M and at Parsadlaya 12 to 7 P.M.
