Our Mission

Our mission is to provide quality education to each and every underprivileged children. We want to uplift their standard of living only through education.

Work and Achievements

Sugam is first organisation in Moti Vihar area who identified the need of education to under privileged children. Moti Vihar is urban slum area consist of approximately 30,000 people. Sugam has its roots from the belief to provide opportunities to the children who are chained into child labour due to their socio-economic status. We are a charitable educational institute that reaches out to the children and families living in the darkness of high rise buildings in Gurgaon.

This desire to help the children was born to our Founder, Monica Sharma who is a resident in the high rises of Gurgaon. When she saw the gravity of the situation where the girls were looking after the house and her siblings or young boys falling for the bad habits of smoking and drugs- she decided that she won’t sit to witness their future drain away.

The motto of the organization is to create awareness amongst the families to understand the need of education and healthy living which promotes well-being. What started with 6 children in one small room has grown to providing services to 239 children.

Currently we have managed to provide support from nursery to grade 6th to the children. We are happy to report the success where these children are mainstreamed into other schools. We are raising funds to expand our services from Grade 6 to Grade 10 at Sugam in the next 2 years. The funds will be utilised for the welfare of underprivileged children as they are still engaged in drugs, drinking and for girls’ situation is even worse due to unfavourable conditions parents opt for early marriage and girls get married as early as 13 years which leads to other issues like early pregnancy and other health related issues.

We are reaching out to each one of you to donate to us that would help us teach the children and help them procure a standard of living which has been their distant dream.

Fund Utilisation Statement

Funds will be utilized towards running operations of the school such as salary of teachers, teaching materials of current 239 students to providing higher education.
