Work and Achievements
Women prisoners having no capacity to fight their socio-legal-economic rights are assisted by Janodaya to get released from prison, clear their cases, capacitate with knowledge, skill and employment to mainstream into society and become self-reliant.
Janodaya runs short stay homes, rehabilitation and training centres to all such women from Prison and community, going through domestic and marital violence reported at Janodaya.
Janodaya has 4 Toll free women’s help lines under government of Karnataka – Women and Child Devt. Dept., functioned at Jayamahal,Kormangala, State Women Commission and MS building - Women and Child Devt.Dept.
Per month, approximately 60 - 80 cases are reported,registered, counseled and 80% of them are settled through mutual settlement procedure by professional counselors appointed for the programme.
Approximately about 100 – 150 children are receiving scholarship for education from among community, prisoners and Garment industry working single women at present.
Environment protection and rejuvenation programme has about2000 small and marginal farmers organized under “Sauhardha OrganicCo-operative”, who produce food products, are into marketing and enterprises only with organic products. Per monthapproximately 25 tones of vegetable are marketed through 2 mobile vehicles,with an income of Rs. 2:25 lakh to the producing farmers and households.

Fund will be utilized for education purpose the for as many as possible from the 300 the prisoner’s children – school fees, books, uniforms, tuition fees, exam fees etc
