Project Name : RK Puram Community Based Primary Health Care Project

This project will operate in RK Puram at a PHC catering to the residents of three nearby slums, Ekta Vihar, KD Colony, and Sonia Gandhi Camp in RK Puram. The unique feature of our operations is that we use locations provided to us free by local bodies or community organisations, thus vastly reducing our overhead costs and freeing up funds that can be used to treat more patients. Project Goals and Objectives: 1, Provide basic primary health care services (including consultation and medicines) at no cost except for Rs. 10 charged once for patients medical history booklet. 2. To achieve and maintain quality health care where ‘quality’ stands for acceptable, low cost, efficient care. 3.To educate the local population on various preventive and promotive health care issues including a specific focus on maternal and infant health, non-communicable diseases and First Responder Training, and Emergency Training for community members.

About us

‘CHIKITSA’ started as a community health initiative fifteen years ago by General OP Malhotra (Retd) on the ground floor of the Gauri Shankar Mandir at Sector 12, RK Puram, New Delhi, with a free clinic to serve nearby slum dwellers. Since then we have grown to three base clinics and eleven mobile clinics in Delhi-NCR, using premises provided to us by local bodies or community organisations in underserved communities. We currently provide free primary health care to about 100,000 patients annually.
