Joining Hands

Project Name : To continue, expand and sustain our training centre

Joining Hands Enhancing Employability Initiative was conceptualised to address the most pressing need of the country which is unemployability. The initiative strives to provide a sustainable solution to the gap that exists between the demand and supply in the job market. Joining Hands has established a Skill Training Centre in Badarpur in January 2015. The Training Centre provides training on Information Technology, Spoken & Written English, Basic Arithmetic, Communication & Personality development skills. With a vision to expand, Training Centre would like to introduce more need based courses to empower the community and increase the opportunity of livelihoods. We have observed that the area is surrounded by many big and small export companies (Faridabad in Haryana, Badarpur and Okhla in Delhi). To fulfil the demand generated by these export companies, many people in the community are engaged in it as an alternative source of livelihoods. The proposed three year plan is estimated at a cost of Rs 83.71 Lakh, of which we ourselves contribute Rs 7 Lakh to this expansion plan of our project.

About us

Joining Hands is a registered non-profit organization in 2006, focused to empower lives and sustaining livelihoods. We provide a unique platform for an exchange of ideas, skills and learning through our association with Corporate, NGOs and Education Institutions. Unemployment has been the biggest challenges plaguing India. Addressing this gap, Joining Hands Enhancing Employability Initiative is designed to educate and enhance the skills of urban poor to help them generate livelihoods for themselves. Fulfilling these objectives, Enhancing Employability initiative was conceptualized in 2012 and did pilot trainings and need assessment in 6 communities of Delhi NCR. It aims at providing English, Digital and Communication Skills and any other skill required to keep up with the changing time and need to unemployed urban poor youth and empower them to be part of the competitive job world.
