Work and Achievements
CMCA Civic club program is an innovative citizenship education program that inculcates democratic and civic values and environmental consciousness in children and youth by CMCA. CMCA works on the premise that active and responsible children grow up to be active and responsible adults.
CMCA directly engages with 15000 girls and boys in 300 secondary schools across 9 cities –Bengaluru, Hubballi-Dharwad, Mysuru, Hosur, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and 28 villages across Karnataka. Girls constitute over fifty percent of the total number of adolescents CMCA directly engages with while the proportion of boys and girls belonging to marginalized socio-economic strata too constitutes roughly half of the total outreach.
CMCA – Some Features of the Program
- CMCA is a volunteer-driven program. Across our member cities, 300 committed and well-trained volunteers facilitate civic club sessions and activities. Our volunteers are citizens who fulfil their role with a passion and dedication so vital when interacting with children.
- Our program is run free of charge in our member schools under the CMCA Government School Program.
Fund Utilisation Statement
The funds raised will be used to running a civic clubs in a government schools. A civic club consists of approx 50 children and costs about Rs. 76000 per club per year.
