Vasantharatna Foundation for Arts
The foundation aims to empower women from martyr families and help them discover their potential, provide financial/emotional counselling and legal support to them, educate and train their children besides increasing public awareness of the sacrifices of soldiers.
Work and Achievements
Since its inception in 2007, the foundation has been actively conducting various programs to improve the lives of martyr families, raise funds, create public awareness and to keep the memory of martyrs alive by instituting Memorial Awards.
The play “Silent front” - paying tribute to soldiers' wives.
- “VRFA Educational Scholarship” benefited school going children of army ‘Jawan’ martyrs in Karnataka. Plans are now in place to extend this to Masters Education Programs and to go Pan India.
- “Salute to heroes” is an event to educate people about the sacrifices of a soldier and uses art as a platform to raise funds for the foundation.
- “Reflections” started out as a competition for school children on topics of patriotic interest. This evolved into Outbound learning programs to empower and provide life skills to the children and wives of martyrs followed by Vocational training, English speaking and Computer lessons.
- “Gift a birthday” program celebrates the birthday of a martyr widow or her children by sending them gifts on their special day.
Fund Utilisation Statement
Will be utilised for educational scholarships. birthdays, memorial awards, outbound learning and programs for children and women, computer literacy, English language training and vocational trainings.
