In 2015, India Cares Foundation started a common pool of funds known as ‘Shakti fund’. As the name suggests, this fund is used encouraging capacity building of CSOs. Shakti Fund pool of donations will be given to the CSOs who show the most proactive engagement with their supporters and friends for fund raising. The aim is to encourage individuals, CSOs and companies to get more involved and most importantly build a better network of support.
We all agree that most CSOs in the country hardly have the capacity and/ or the bandwidth to have specialized fundraisers or communications personnel. Usually they depend on volunteers, board members & well-wishers to spread the word about the cause and their work. We believe that we must encourage them to widen their network of donors.
This is the third year of Shakti Fund and it has shown results! In the past 24 months, India Cares has contributed Rs 18+ lakh to encourage CSOs in their communications and resource mobilization through fund raising workshops, individual guidance, use of social media, and incentives. With your support this initiative will help many more CSOs.
If you are looking to strengthen the social sector, are unsure of where to donate and who want to do that little extra for the cause they believe in; to use this opportunity and join the ‘Shakti Fund Campaign’. I do believe that with little help a CSO is encouraged to improve its communication and strive to do better in through the year.
This is my hat trick year as a Care Champion for Shakti Fund. So contribute generously for this cause.
