I am a doctor, a Pediatric Pulmonologist, working in Shishuka Children's Hospital. I work in different hospitals, public and private across Bangalore and come across many children from underprivileged backgrounds with chronic diseases which require medication on a long term basis. As they are not able to afford to purchase these medicines which are unavailable at Government centres, their condition deteriorates with time. There on, I helped to found Shishu Care Foundation, to aid these children to be able to receive healthcare without having to worry about the medicines and funding. The doctors who help treat these poor kids work voluntarily and we negotiate with the suppliers to also provide medication at much lower rates. Since the start of the foundation, nearly 30 children have been receiving our constant support. There’s no greater happiness than seeing these children get back to normal lives, head back to school and fight their battles without having to think twice.
I am running to help raise funds for these children with Primary Immunodeficiency which require long term medication and hope you will help me raise what they need. Trying to play my little part in creating a Silver Lining in their lives
