Since the last two years, I have been on the Board of Trustees of One Billion Literates Foundation (OBLF), which is a Registered Charitable Trust with 12A, 80G and FCRA approvals.
We teach basic English level and Computer skills to underprivileged children who attend Rural Government Primary Schools, with the ultimate goal of giving them an equal opportunity to gain meaningful employment on reaching adulthood. OBLF trains and employs rural women from those same communities to impart these skills to the children.
My two passions in life – Women Empowerment and Quality Education for rural children – are beautifully interwoven at OBLF.
Currently OBLF works in 45 rural schools in Anekal Taluk of Banaglore District, impacting over 2500 children and 50 rural women.
As part of my contribution to this goal, I have set myself the task of raising Rs.1,50,000/-, to help us adopt one more school. I hope you will support me in reaching this goal and experiencing the change in India that we wish to see in our lifetime.
Thank you for your generosity.
