Work and Achievements
Cuddles foundation is the only NGO in India which focuses on providing holistic nutrition support to children afflicted with cancer. We use all-round approach to reach across to more number of children and their families by working with government and charity funded hospitals to help BPL families. We are operational since over 3 years and are a Trust under the Mumbai Public Trust Act, 1950.
Even though we formally registered in 2013 we started our operations in 2012. Some of the hospitals where we operate are Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai), Sion Hospital (Mumbai), Wadia Hospital (Mumbai), Nair Hospital (Mumbai), AIIMS (Delhi), PGIMER (Chandigarh), NRS Medical College and Hospital (Kolkata), and Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (Bangalore) to name a few. Recently we have started operations in SKIMS, Srinagar, MMHRC (Madurai), Dr B Bharuch Cancer Hospital (Guwahati) thus making our presence in 22 Hospitals across 13 Cities all over India. We reach across to 3500 children per month. Our mission is to give every child suffering with cancer a chance at cure.
- With the nutrition intervention the abandonment rate went down from 26% to a stunning 2%. The chance of cure in malnourished kid becomes 30% enhanced due to the administration of nutrition.
- On November 14, 2016 Cuddles Foundation won the National Award for Child Welfare 2015 bestowed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development of the Government of India. This honor was awarded to Purnota Bahl (Our Founder and CEO) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by the Honorable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee.
- Cuddles Foundation is the recipient of The SPO India Emerging NGO Award and AIESEC Leadership Award 2017.
Fund Utilisation Statement
The funds raised will be utilized in programs such as providing: Nutritional supplements. Monthly Ration bundles to the family. In meal supplementation - fruit and lassi to the child visiting OPD.
