Work and Achievements
Karm Marg, established in Feb 1997, provides a home for about sixty children including youngsters and few disadvantaged children (4- 21 years) in rural Faridabad. Shelter, formal education, home schooling, nutrition, medical care, vocational training, counselling, mentoring. We provide it all. In 2017-18, 87 children stayed at home.
Karm Marg is also a referral center for missing children or those rescued from family abused/child trafficking are placed for short term shelter. In 2017-18, 48 children and youth were taken care of under this project.
Our income generation program, Jugaad Trust, provides vocational training, job opportunities and entrepreneurial skills for our youngsters and economically empowers over a hundred local rural women. Most of our trainer and staff is our alumni who got training under Jugaad. 29 youth and 46 women had enrolled under this project in 2016-17
Our USP is that the products are designed in-house, using as much waste/recyclable materials as possible. Our brand is known for its innovation and eco-friendliness. These products are sold online, through exhibitions and are even exported on orders.
We are also involved with the local rural population, especially the youth, through health and hygiene camps, advocacy programs like gender inequality, life skill, teenage issues, etc. We regularly share our expertise and best practices with other NGO's, government organizations and at various events. 125 youth has been beneficiaries with the part of this project,
Karm Marg also runs a mobile library and conducts interactive storytelling sessions in local Government and private schools of the village periodically. 200 Children enrolled in this project.
