Our Mission

To foster proper menstrual health & hygiene and uplift women/girls through disseminating
proper education.

Work and Achievements

Sachhi Saheli is an NGO with a mission to enable all the levels of our society to act collectively to ‘let’ every woman leads her life on her own terms. It aims to fight social taboos, break through stigmas to give voice to women and talk about everything that the society hesitates to discuss. Sachhi Saheli is different from other organizations in the very approach of tackling social problems such as stigma around menstruation and sexual abuse. It intends to act on the causes rather than the symptoms by attacking evil right where it is conceived, our thinking and conditioning. The same is achieved through conducting menstrual health and awareness workshops and good touch bad touch sensitization workshops for students, parents and communities, through training of trainers and teachers on the subject matter and through organizing large-scale awareness events such as menstrual Hygiene Day celebration.

In the short span of time since 2016, Sachhi Saheli has been able to conduct awareness workshops for approximately 1,00,000 students in Delhi government schools and NDMC schools. Sachhi Saheli has also trained health workers in Daman and teachers and EVGCs in East Delhi Municipal Corporation Schools so as to create more and more recall points to spread the correct knowledge about menstruation. Adiitionally Sachhi Saheli has been able organize 5 large scale events in association with the Delhi government on the occasions of Menstrual Hygiene Day and International Girl Child Day in order to start the dialogue about these topics.

Fund Utilisation Statement

The funds will be utilized to spread proper knowledge regarding menstruation through distribution of Sachhi Saheli Menstrual awareness books and to foster effective menstrual hygiene via distribution of 5-P sanitary pouches.
