SKC’s mission is to foster Sustainable development through Natural Resource Management, Education and Skills development.
Tangra is Kolkata’s largest slum zone, populated by severely disadvantaged sections of society. Manual labour and bleak housing conditions result in high degrees of health &
welfare challenges. Women & children are worst affected. Unemployment is rampant. Denial of quality education and dignified work are the key challenges which the young
people living in Tangra face even today.
You can make a direct and meaningful difference by supporting Seva Kendra Calcutta’s Job-Skills Training Centre, which provides vocational training and industry placement to these young boys and girls for a bright future.
The centre conducts the following fully functional training programmes:
Computer Training Centre
Food Production & Services Training Café
AC Mechanic Training
Seva Kendra Calcutta, established in 1973 by the Archdiocese of Calcutta, is Kolkata’s pioneering Social Development Organization working for sustainable transformation
through programmes targeted at women, youth and the most marginalised sections of society across Kolkata and six surrounding districts of Bengal.
