The Airtel Delh Half Marathon is an annual 21 kilometers road running competition which takes place in New Delhi, India. The competition was first held in 2005 and usually takes place on the 3rd Sunday of November every year.
The race, which is an AIMS-certified Race, now has the 'Gold Label' too, begins and ends at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, after looping through the historic roads of Delhi. The different race categories at the event are – 21km - Half, Great Delhi Run (GDR) (a 6 Km run meant for fun runners), Senior Citizens’ Run (a 4.2 Km run for Senior Citizens, and the Champions with Disability event (a 4.2 Km event for persons with disability).
The event is organised by Procam International, a sport and leisure management firm which is also responsible for the Mumbai Marathon, 25km Kolkata Run and World 10k Bengaluru.
The 10th Edition of Airtel Delhi Half Marathon will be held on 19 November 2017.
It is also the largest single fundraising opportunity for Civil Society Organisations - CSOs/ NGOs in North India. Since its inaugural year, over Rs 40 Crore has been raised by 300 CSOs; last year, in 2016 Rs. 6.61 crore was raised.
At this 10th edition under the sponsorship of Airtel there will be many new features and opportunities to raise awareness and funds.
