Edu Daan is a unique campaign under DaanUtsav (Joy of Giving Week) to support government schools in urban and rural Bengaluru in areas of Teacher Training, WASH, Scholarships and Infrastructure
Work and Achievements
EduDaan was started by a group of volunteers from various organisations to get the society involved in making our Government schools a better place for children to 'Learn'
This is envisaged by:
- Bringing together companies, private schools, NGOs, implementation agencies and the Government of Karnataka as stakeholder-partners to support children in lesser privileged govt. schools.
- Create a reliable, impactful and sustainable program and process that can be used by all stakeholders to support their identified govt. school(s).
- Foster transparency and accountability by providing an easily accessible and open medium to monitor implementation progress and impact of all programs.
- Expand campaign to include more supporters in Bengaluru over the next few years
Since October 2015, 7 companies - TE Connectivity, Laguna Clothing, Wolken Software, Fulcrum, SJS Enterprises, ASM Technologies & HHV Technologies along with 7 private schools - Deens Academy, DPS South, Kumarans, Freedom International, Vasavi Vidya Niketan, Army Public School and Oasis Internationla School have all together contributed Rs 27.50 Lakh which will be used to upgrade a few aspects of 6 Government schools identified in Bengaluru.
There are many more Government Schools that need support and the volunteers hope that Project Edudaan grows and this year help upgrade atleast 25 more Government Schools
Join us in making sure that better education is provided in our government schools!
