For the past 5 years, I have been very closely associated with the cause of blood donation. It all started when I was in college. What motivated me to take up this cause was fairly simple: I thoroughly enjoyed organising blood donation camps- a low effort, high impact activity. I enjoyed the fact that by interacting with people, motivating them & working for a few days, we were able to help save over 200 lives. Over time, this enjoyment turned into a desire to bring a real change in this field. I realised how much impact the youth could potentially make in this field. A motivated 18 year old, has the potential of saving over 100 lives in his lifetime, by just donating blood regularly. That is how exponential the impact can be. With this thought, BloodConnect was born- to get the youth together & make blood donation a youth movement.
I will be running ADHM to support BloodConnect. What started as a small college project, has now grown on to become one of the largest NGOs in this field, present in 10+ cities now with student chapters in many institutions (IITs, NLUs, etc). It solves the problem of blood shortage by organising regular blood donation camps, spreading awareness, motivating people to donate blood and by running a 24x7 helpline to help anyone in need. Till now, BloodConnect has created over 15,000 superheroes, collecting over 25,000 units of blood and thereby helping save over 60,000 lives. With this fund raise, I hope to help BloodConnect create many more such superheroes who can further motivate people and save many more lives. Partner with me, to help create real life superman/batman.
Donate generously, it would mean a lot, not just to me but to all the youth associated with this cause, and of course the thousands of families who are helped by the cause . Every rupee counts & has the potential to save many lives
