Vathsalya Charitable Trust
VCT - An NGO/CSO with almost 3 decades of service in the field of adoption and now moved towards care and development of the vulnerable children from the migrant community.
Work and Achievements
Vathsalya Charitable Trust was started for orphaned and abandoned children and has been appreciated globally for placing over a thousand children into the right homes across the years. Over the years, the focus has moved from child welfare to child development to address the needs of a wider family and community level.
Develop a child, educate a child, empower a mother.
Child Development Center: The program provides children with a place to feel safe, secure and loved. A lot of parents from lower-income backgrounds, especially migrants struggle to provide childcare. We enable children to live their dreams by providing informal education. Teachers and volunteers introduce these children to basic education. Nutritious food has been provided to the children and regular health checks are conducted.
Education support: The program seeks to provide educational sponsorships to children from migrant and underprivileged families. Many migrant children have shown great interests in the field of academics yet are unable to pay their fees. We provide partial payment of fees along with counselling for family members to ensure that every child gets a chance to education.
Income Generation Program: All children deserve a stable home, but in many of the cases, we oversee they often don’t know where their next meal is coming from. The program aims to increase the stable income so that the children get to live in a safer, happier environment. These women are provided microloans with no interest so they are able to start their own business. We also support them with training seminars, support groups, and regular progress checks.
