Our Achievements

Vidya Sagar is a service delivery organization, with emphasis on creating awareness in the community on issues related to disability and advocating rights for persons with disabilities. With over 35 years of experience in the disability sector, we continue to aspire towards providing a range of services across the lifespan for people with disabilities and their families. These services range from early intervention, special education, physiotherapy, speech and communication therapy, vision training, occupational therapy, co-curricular activities, counselling, expanding to vocational training, exploring and creating employment opportunities. We cater to over 3800 individuals with disabilities in any one year and continue to empower more.

As we moved forward, our next goal was towards addressing the universal worry of adults with disabilities which is, ‘What will happen when my family size diminishes?’. This led us to conduct a need-based assessment with our alumni and families. The outcome raised many questions related to various challenges/barriers pertaining towards independent living of person with disabilities. This thinking has evolved into project BLISS – Begin to Live Interdependently with Support Systems, which constitutes nine pillars.

Out of the nine pillars, we have set foot in initiating 4 of the pillars and the rest are in the process of establishment. To initiate other pillars of BLISS, and expand our service in the disability sector, we would require your support to take this forward and make it possible.
