Our Mission

Our mission is to educate and empower underprivileged children from the urban slums of Bangalore and support them till they are gainfully employed.

Work and Achievements

Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT) is a non-governmental organization that strives to empower and educate the children from the slums of Ulsoor, Bangalore. It was started with an aim to provide financial and emotional support to the children from lower economic backgrounds. These children not only feel the financial predicaments throughout their lives but also face a lack of guidance when it comes to education as well as coping with the tribulations life can offer. Therefore ACT goes further with its interventions to ensure physical and emotional well-being of the children by empowering the children as well their families, providing adequate supplies to aid their education, safe environment to nurture their childhood, support groups and strong mentors to rely on until they are ready to spread their wings and fly.

Our support extends to the following:

Educational fees,

Free Books, uniform, school bag, shoes, and other stationery items,

Quality health care including vaccinations MMR, Hepatitis B, and Typhoid

Hobby classes,

Computer literacy,

Life skills

Financial inclusion by starting savings bank accounts

Mentoring & Counselling

ACT holds after school programs for children to help them improve their academic performance. We also empower the mothers of the children to become financially independent and to become positive role models for the children. Sheela (name changed) is a daughter of a tailor and was brought to this centre many years ago. With help from ACT, today she is employed in HP. The various interventions at ACT have been very successful in integrating children into the mainstream society. Ashwini Charitable Trust has more than 40 alumni students, who have passed out and are in placed in good companies.
