Our Mission

Creating and facilitating platforms for citizens to engage with policy making and civic administration.

Work and Achievements

Established in 2004, Resurgent India Trust has been actively engaged in several activities related to youth empowerment, civic engagement, women’s safety, ecological conservation, urban development and public policy. The Trust has published books focussing on Karnataka as an attractive investment destination and the various innovations in governance that have taken place. The Trust has also worked extensively with talented youth from within India and abroad who are motivated to address civic issues, ensure citizens’ participation and constructive engagement with the public functionaries.

Under the ‘Bengaluru Needs You’ (BNY) campaign, the Trust undertook several activities that empower citizens to participate in solving civic issues. The core belief is that lasting change comes when citizens collaborate with civic authorities and participate in transformation of the city, instead of merely pointing fingers at the system. To realise this vision for a vibrant and inclusive city, BNY worked hand-in- hand with civic bodies and civil society to generate effective and lasting change.

Over the years, a multidisciplinary team works on several issues pertaining to the following:

  • Urban Planning, Design and Governance
  • Youth Education, Empowerment and Leadership
  • Civic Engagement
  • Women’s Safety
  • Cleaner Communities and Improved Waste Management Systems
  • Better Planning and Design of Public Spaces
  • Improvement in Urban Mobility (especially Suburban Rail)
  • Environmental Conservation

Fund Utilisation Statement

Resurgent India will use the funds raised to organize more seminars, workshops, discussions and events that will enable citizens to engage with the civic administration and public policy to transform society.
